Roger Taylor Format: Audio CD Rock Editorial Review
**** Roger Taylor's latest solo album, "Outsider," showcases the legendary Queen drummer’s enduring musical talent and creativity. Fans of Taylor and Queen alike will find much to appreciate here, as the album is a blend of thoughtful lyrics, catchy melodies, and a variety of musical styles that resonate in the current climate. While some may find certain lyrics a touch cringeworthy, these moments are often offset by the album's overall engaging quality and cleverness. At 72, Taylor’s voice remains robust and compelling, effortlessly capturing the emotional landscape of this period marked by uncertainty and change. Songs like "I Know I Know I Know," "Gangsters Are Running This World," and "Isolation" stand out, reflecting relatable themes of the pandemic while keeping listeners hooked with their memorable hooks. Fans note that Taylor’s vocal prowess is still alive and well, effortlessly bridging the gap between the rock and pop genres. The album is flagged as both a product of the pandemic and a reflection on the tumult of modern life, showcasing a blend of melancholy and hope. Overall, "Outsider" is not only a testament to Taylor’s continued relevance in the music industry but also an enjoyable listening experience that is highly recommended for both dedicated fans and new listeners. **
