The Extech CO210 Air Quality Carbon Dioxide Data Logger is a compact, hand-held device that records and displays temperature, humidity and CO2 levels. The meter can record readings for long-term environment monitoring, with a memory capacity of 15999 points. The sample rate is adjustable from 1 second to 4 hours and 59 minutes. The meter is compatible with Windows only but can export data collected as CSV files. However, non-technical users may find it challenging to collect data without proprietary software. The device comes with a USB cable to connect to a desktop or laptop, and drivers can be downloaded from the Extech website. It requires 6 AAA batteries and has no battery backup, causing the clock to drift significantly when off. While the software does a great job of controlling, retrieving, and displaying data, users may need to import CSV files into other software programs like Excel or Logger Pro for further analysis. Although the Extech CO210 Air Quality Carbon Dioxide Data Logger has minor shortcomings, it is relatively affordable and provides accurate recordings, making it suitable for limited IAQ surveys, home use, or workspace monitoring.
