REDARC Battery Chargers RDC-SBI12 Editorial Review
The Redarc SBI12 is showcased in this FAQ Q&A as a reliable product. The device comes equipped with the ability to backfeed power even if a starting battery dies, and it offers an override wire switch for manual usage. The product manual offers guidance on setting this feature up. Furthermore, the device requires fuses rated to 100A for the connection, and the company sells FK100 that comes with two fuse holders and a fuse at that rating. One purchaser inquires about the compatibility of the SBI12 within a 2016 meris with a 190amp alternator and a 12v 100ah auxiliary battery. Redarc responds stating the device's rating is the maximum power it can handle through the solenoid. Though the purchased device will be 12v 100Amp, the specified alternator will never generate that much current flow. The Redarc SBI12 is a great option for those with auxiliary batteries that need charging while driving. The product offers the ability to backfeed power even if a starter battery dies, and an override wire switch exists for manual usage. In addition, Redarc provides instructions on the product manual on setting up the switch manually. The device requires a 100A fuse for the connection, but the company offers the FK100, which comes equipped with two fuse holders and a fuse at that rating. Though some potential buyers may wonder about compatibility issues, the Redarc staff has provided clear and informative responses to these questions.
