Simrad Marine Autopilots DSI-041 Editorial Review

Simrad Pilot Control AP44 is a high-quality product that connects through NMEA 2000. It won't perfectly line up with the AP11 cutout/mounting screw holes. The AP44 is compatible with a Nec-2 computer, which is necessary for proper steering. The unit is perfect for a grand banks trawler and interfaces easily with a motor drive and chain drive wire run system. However, it is crucial to run through the set-up carefully. A reviewer claimed that the display holds up better than the AP22 and AP24. One unsatisfied customer complained that the product was defective and received a partial refund. They also criticized the company's negative customer service experience.
