Hafızanın toplumsallığına ve bireyselliğine ek olarak Halbwachs'in Toplumsal Hafızanın Çerçeveleri kuramına göçmen hafızası üzerinden yaklaşılmıştır. Bu bağlamda hafıza teması içerisinde; yaşanan hafıza, işitilen hafıza ve travmatik hafıza ele alınırken, mekan teması içerisinde; mekan seçimi, mekan mukayesesi ve mekan hafızası ele alınmış, rüyalar ayrıca incelenerek hafıza-mekan arasındaki ilişki sosyolojik analize tabii tutulmuştur.
