Nikwax Polar Proof is a water-repellent solution for fleece or pile garments. It is easy to apply and does not require reapplication after each wash cycle. However, it is recommended to use Nikwax Tech Wash (sold separately) before applying Polar Proof to ensure the surface is clean and prepped for the best adhesion. The durability of the waterproofing is high, and the age of the fleece does not affect its effectiveness. However, washing the fleece will eliminate or reduce the effect. Polar Proof is not suitable for cotton, and if the material is other than fleece, Nikwax has a variety of suitable products for different materials, including gloves. The main ingredients include propylene glycol, acetic acid, zirconium acetate and some other proprietary ingredients. Polar Proof is suitable for softshell gloves. In terms of the number of loads that can be done with a 10oz bottle, it will depend on the washer type and the number of garments per wash.
