Adını Kaliforniya'daki ünlü gözlemevinden alan suskun karakter Bay Palomar, yaşamdaki yanlış anlamalar, kararsızlıklar, uzlaşmalar ve yarım kalmış işler kargaşasında ne yapacağını şaşırıyor. Sonunda tek bir çıkar yol buluyor: Kendini tanımak, iç coğrafyasını keşfetmek, ruhunun devinimlerinin diyagramını çizmek...
