- After I returned from Istanbul, I serialized this mahud 'Barem Law' in a magazine called Başkent, which had just started to be published in Ankara. But it took fifteen or twenty serials, and then I had to cut it off because of the conflicts that are too long to describe here. Let me just tell you this: My novel turned out the way I wanted. I received a lot of encouragement from a couple of friends whose taste and knowledge I trust. Barem's Law, which was revealed by tracing these lines quoted from a letter written by Melih Cevdet Anday to Şevket Rado, is being published as a book for the first time in 77 years! In this first serialized novel attempt, which he attempted in 1946, when he was in his early thirties, it is seen how masterful Anday was in creating atmosphere, character building and fiction from the very beginning. Barem's Law will start a new history by resetting the literary biography of Melih Cevdet Anday. But this civil service life was not as seen from the outside. One day, a sullen man he had never met entered the room, all the officers stood up like soldiers; They were vibrating with fear as if their lives were between this man's lips.
